The story of Nathaniel McHorney's 1901 trip to Ecuador.

Anna’s Bible

My aunt Evelyn recently loaned me her grandmother’s bible, and I took a picture of the front inside cover.

It says

Presented to my wife Anna on the Fifth anniversary of our marriage.

Nov 7, 1906

Lovingly, Mac.

San Diego City, California

Bible Inscription

… and that’s the end.

After October 9th, all the pages in the diary are blank.

We know that there was a lot going on in Nathaniel’s life; he got married to Anna Lauterbach in early November 1901, and they moved to San Diego soon afterwards (date?) – but he didn’t record any of that in his diary.

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this diary – I know I have.
