February 8th, 1901

Arose 6:30 AM. At work 7:30 A.M.
Making some progress with a/cs
Visited pipe warehouse - saw much.
D.C.S. gone to Quasamambi to quiet
McKenzie. Miesner tells me McKenzie
will be through in 3 days. Are other
men coming down here. Money talk!!
Waiting for iron to come. No hope now
until Tuesday next. Jar - don't know
when. Mr & Mrs C.G.F talk much of 
their previous travels, entertaining
Prince of Wales in a shooting box in
Scotland. Sir ... Peet formerly had
it. Mrs. C.G.F. still trying her hand
at cooking for us. Boy worked 
hard on his tracing.
D.C.S. thinks and says Mr. C.G.F the
most cold-blooded man  he ever met.
No comment on work done at Sapago
Grande. Not much rain.
2 weeks here. Mr. Stapleton thinks
my plan is to prepare for the
future entire management of the
N.Y. Office.
Donney Gerald to be cabled for
to come here - Hurrah!
